Nintendo has announced that it has shut down all repair centers due to federal and local guidelines regarding the novel coronavirus, delaying Nintendo Switch repairs in North America.

Early Wednesday morning Nintendo posted a notice on its official Nintendo Customer Support website about the closure. “Due to preventive measures put in place for the COVID-19 coronavirus, and in accordance with federal and local guidelines, our repair centers are closed until further notice,”

When do you expect to be able to resume the repair service?

Please note that, during this closure, products sent in for repair may be returned to you as undeliverable.

If our repair center has already received your product, it will remain there until the repair services resume. The repair order for the services will remain on Nintendo’s systems for 180 days and the same order can be used once the services resume.

One positive, however, is that Nintendo is extending warranties for the duration of the closure. If a Nintendo Switch owner’s warranty expires in the weeks ahead, Nintendo will extend that warranty for those weeks following the repair center reopening.
